I ran into Lynn Dell, one of the stars of The Advanced Style Documentary, at the Easter Parade. She is so excited for the premiere of the film at the HotDocs Festival in Toronto on April 29th!!! Lina and I have a exciting month ahead as we are traveling with some of the ladies to Toronto and then to London, for a series of discussions and screenings. I met this stunning woman on a very windy day near Madison Avenue. I offered to help her across the street and asked if I could take her photograph. When I asked what inspired her style she replied, " Me, I dress up for me. That part of the day is about me and the rest is about other people. I get dressed up everyday as if I am going to New York City, even though I live here. I know I'm one of the only people in New York who dresses anymore."

I always love attending the Easter Parade and seeing how creatively everyone puts themselves together. Studio 54 legend Rollerena is a perennial favorite! Even though I'm usually too busy snapping photos at the parade to stop for a photo, Mangue Banzima from Qui Style, was able to get some shots of me in action below.

I have seen this dapper gentleman walking up Madison Avenue several times and he always looks great. I love how he matches his bag with his shoes and coordinates his tie with his pocket square.

Cape Dress

This woman was by far the most elegantly dressed person I saw over Easter weekend. Her stunning cape dress is obviously vintage, and she has probably been wearing it for many years, but it remains in perfect condition. At the risk of sounding like my grandmother -- they just don't make clothes like they used to.

I'm excited to reveal the official poster for the Advanced Style Documentary and to announce that tickets are now available for the UK theatrical premiere. After the World Premiere at HotDocs and the US premiere at Montclair, the film will travel to the UK for it's European theatrical premiere.
Lina, the ladies and I will be traveling to London for a Q&A and theatrical premiere at The Curzon Mayfair Theater, Tuesday May 6th, at 6:20pm. Tickets are going fast, so please pre-order yours HERE. We can't wait to see what happens with the film next...

I was walking up Madison Avenue when I noticed a gorgeous woman in a red coat and wonderful hat a few blocks ahead. When I finally caught up to her, after a quick jog up Madison, I complimented her hat and asked if I could take her photograph. Not only did I get a bit of exercise, but also a great shot of a stunning woman with a keen eye for accessories.

Some of you may remember Magda from a shoot I did with her last October. The first time I met her she was on the subway dressed in a colorful suit, wonderful jewelry, and hair full of dazzling butterflies and flowers. I handed her my card and a few weeks later we got together to take some photographs. Yesterday, I met up with Magda again and we did a fun shoot in her gorgeous apartment. I can't wait to share all the photos with everyone next week.

This stunning woman was walking with her equally dapper husband near Madison Avenue, when I stopped to ask if I could take their photograph. Although she tried to convince him to pose for a quick shot, he walked away (you can see him in the distance). He was wearing a beautiful suit with a yellow and green bow tie. Next time I run into them, I'll try my best to get a great photo of this handsome couple.
